Use with 14/12/10 gauge pump wire to 8/6 gauge pump wire. Efficiently seal and repair wires with the Back40 Crystal Clear Pump Cable Waterproof Step Down Splice Kit. This waterproof splice kit with our clear heat shrink makes for easy viewing and future troubleshooting. Essential for motor and pump end rewiring. A regular splice kit is ALREADY INCLUDED in every pump kit purchase, but if you're buying a motor or pump end separately and using eight gauge pump wire from the motor pigtails, you will need a particular Step Down Splice Kit.
Includes...
- 5 crystal clear heat shrink tubes
- 5 step down wire crimps
Instructions:
You'll need heat source to properly shrink the tubes, we suggest a butane torch or lighter.
1) Slide the heat shrink tubing onto the wires
2) Attach connectors to the wires using a crimping tool. Use the yellow end for 14/12/10 gauge wire, and the red end for 8/6 gauge wire.
3) Ensure that the tubing is centered over the connector, then begin shrinking it from the middle outwards towards the ends.
4) The sealing process is complete when the tubing has conformed to the shape of the wire and connector, and the sealant begins to flow from the tube ends.
